The Hottest Careers in the Middle of Recession and How to Get Them

Due to the unceasing effects of the global financial crises, lots people in the working field lost their jobs and in this middle of 2009, the number of individuals losing their jobs continue to grow in numbers.  This makes getting a job seems to be too tough nowadays.  But don’t lose hope because there are still available jobs in the market today even to those companies affected by the recession.

The hottest careers today include:

1.    Computer related jobs:

  • a.    Network and Computer System administrators

Though these careers require degrees in related fields, most of the time, work experience can just as well be considered.  All of these careers require work experience with regards to the related field or degree of an applicant.

In relation to computer related careers, it does not necessary you have the exact degree, sometimes a combination of technical courses which are mainly focused on the job description plus your working experience from those job vacancies will be an advantage.

Teachers job vacancies are still one of the in demand job in the job market.  Though this requires an applicant to be with a bachelor degree in education related fields, you can always grab a vacancy for teachers.

But of course, you need to prove first to the target employee that you are capable of such teachers’ jobs.  You can earn a teaching experience by volunteering as tutor, teacher aid or any teacher related job.  You main purpose is to see and experience classroom management and teacher-learner protocols.

With the degree you have and the experiences you’ve acquired, you will surely get that job vacancy for teachers even if you are not totally a teacher.

Writing Your Cover Letter

There are already lots of sample cover letters posted on the net.  From these numbers, I am sure there’s that cover letter that almost exactly fit your needs.  But do not just copy this cover letter, you need to carefully read every details and replace those things which are not needed.

Your cover letter needs to be carefully crafted to the extent that there’s no error in it.  This cover letter will not only backed up your resume, but also the reader to see an overview of you qualifications that you are fit for the job.  In fact, from the cover letter alone, the employer will determine you are the person they are looking for.

As you can see from those sample cover letters, not only sample cover letter for teacher but to other samples which you may encounter, the structure fits only on one page.  Yes, a cover letter should exactly fit to one page only.  You resume may come into multiple pages, but not for your cover letter.

Bad Sample Cover Letter for Teachers

A cover letter is the same with business sales letter.  It should be well constructed in the sense that the reader should understand what you are trying to convey.  Writing a cover letter for teachers or to any other job placement is the same.

Teachers in particular should know how to created a good in not perfect cover letter, but sometimes they just take it their way not knowing the generally accepted format of this letter.  A cover letter or your application letter should NOT be written in way that you are like writing a biography.  The reader, who will be your next employer doesn’t want to know all those things that happened in your life. Instead, all they want to see is you capability to perform the job you are applying.

This cover letter is a motivating factor for the employer to move on to read your resume.  If in any case, your cover letter is NOT written in a generally accepted format, for sure, you name will be slashed out from the list.

To write an stimulating cover letter for teachers or to any job you are applying, follow these steps:

First Paragraph: State who you are: you age, address and where you graduated.

Second Paragraph; State where you got the information about the job placement.

Third Paragraph:  State your reason, some merits why you are qualified for the job: job related experiences.

Fourth Paragraph: Your contact information: where you will be contacted for an interview.

Jobs for Your Students

As a teacher, we come to encounter such problem of our student.  They are vocal when it come to their problem particularly in terms of their financial needs.  Whether you like or not, you need your best advice to at least pacify that depressed felling of the student. And of course, give possible solutions you think is the most suited for their specific needs.

When it comes to the financial problems of your student, you can actually suggest them to have a part time job.  This job could be performed after classes or during weekends.  Today, there are business which are especially hiring for student to be one of their manpower.

The salary for this jobs will not be higher than the minimum wage, but it will surely bridge the gap of the finacial needs your student is into.  This business establishments are actually aware of these things and so they prefer to hire students for additional manpower.

An example job you student can acquire is a baggage boy/girl where he or she will be incharge of packing up those groceries a customer bought.  Yes, groceries are actually hiring student for such job and they can work after classes or during weekends.

Shifting to another Job

Everyone could shift to another job.  In fact, this is happening all the time and this started when global financial crisis started.  Those that had been laid off from work are looking for job opportunities in any field they think their skill is qualified.  The only problem here is that there already too many applicants in any job vacancy today.

One of the field where an employee shift to another job are those in the teaching field.  Teachers are shifting to another job not only for personal reasons but most importantly, the development when it comes to professional growth is somewhat very slow and this includes the remuneration.  Well, everyone is looking for a greener pasture and I am you will also shift to another job if you will be given opportunities having good benefits.

A teacher, on the other hand, could easily shift to another job opportunities because of their skills which lies within the management section and since most of the schools did not hire addition faculty for their school, some of those in the part time teaching have shifted to another job opportunities and most them were positioned within the management and secretarial works.
